Training and Capacity Development

The CJCP offers training across the Southern African region on a wide range of violence prevention  topics, such as:
  • Early childhood development
  • School violence prevention
  • Hazardous alcohol consumption
  • Online and offline child safeguarding
  • Crime and violence prevention management
  • Community safety
  • Integrated social crime prevention

Examples of recent training conducted by the CJCP includes:
  1. Capacity building of early childhood development centres in Walmer Township as part of early violence prevention
  2. Training on the World Health Organisation’s Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test (AUDIT) to community-level practitioners
  3. Training of violence prevention stakeholders on gender-based violence
  4. Child safeguarding training for service providers working with children
  5. Training and capacity development for government education departmental staff on implementing school violence prevention initiatives
